About Me

My photo
Creativity would best define me whether it be in the form of food, hair, writing, or self development. Although each of these is quite different they are all interconnected. I use them all as a way of escape, self awareness, and empowerment. I feel as though if I can make a difference in at least one person’s life I’m happy. These three things afford me the opportunity to make a difference.

Inspirational Thoughts

Two Thousand Ten
What can I say about two thousand ten it started with a boom and it’s ending with a bag.  I ventured out to explore new things to develop a deeper appreciation of life.  SAT scores, ski trips, proms, and high school graduation were all exciting as I helped by baby boy transition into his next academic phase.  The sky is the limit and the limit is the sky, I can recall telling him.  In an undertone I also said you can come home at any time, you have nothing to prove to anyone.  Pressure, Stress, and Anxiety is a number one cause for suicide, but that’s not an option for my baby boy….. I’m just saying.
Countless trips to the beach caused me to be free to be
Whoever I wanted for the moment
I could just mentally fly like a dove in the breeze over the sounds of the rushing waves
Simply soaring in the sky not a care in the world!
That much closer to my destiny which is heaven bound when the time comes but not yet…… there is work yet to be done here on earth
Haven’t found that special someone and perhaps God knows that it’s not a true desire, but more of a temporary satisfaction.
I really do enjoy me and being in my own company as often as possible.
I’ve spent much time traveling through the art of delicious cuisines Thai, Cuba, India, Korea, Mexico, Italy, France, and ahhhh New Orleans by way of Chicken Gumbo at Kelsey & Kim’s.
Two thousand ten has helped me to develop such a love for the creation of the Creator.  I/we are fearfully and wonderfully made and yes MARVELOUS is Thy works……
This my heart…….
Yes, my heart knows quite well.
Fierce is what I hope to grow to be in the hair care industry helping others to maintain the crown.  Luxurious, flowing, manageable, and nourished hair natural or processed, but treated with the most elegant touch of love that one can receive.  Authentic, genuine, love to help one just feel good
You know, there is a special feeling to one when the hair is together.
Two thousand ten has helped me to realize that my ministry is beyond four walls, but it is abroad and it must reach people where they are mentally, physically, and spiritually.  No regrets, no not one, everything has happened for a reason and at it’s appoint time. And the blog yet another way to reach the masses.  Two thousand ten has helped me to stop sweating the small stuff, because the best is yet to come.
As I approach two thousand eleven I’m thinking fellowship, fellowship, yes more fellowship!

GONE TOO SOON
Have you ever been in such a hurry that you decided to put off for tomorrow, what you could do today? By living in a microwave, “Have It Your Way” society we do everything in a hurry, and have time for nothing.  There are four situations that has really caused me to pay attention to slowing down, and not taking anyone or thing for granted.  In 1993 my beloved Sister was murdered at the tender age of 17.  I will never forget the time that I was double parked, and I ran in quickly to say goodbye.  She was upstairs and someone was outside honking their horn, so I yelled, “See you next Thursday Lashay, I have to go someone is blowing their horn” she replied ok.  Little did I know that Thursday would come without my beloved sister?  GONE TOO SOON!
He was the love of my life since the age 19, we go married had two beautiful children settled in New Jersey, and the rest as they say is history.  We both came home from work normal routine.  I was braiding my daughter’s hair in the back room, while my son was playing video games in the living room as his father napped on the sofa.  It was a typical day until all of a sudden there was a paradigm shift in our family unit.  The man that I was to spend my golden years with had a massive heart attack.  He got home from work by 3:00 and he was gone forever by 5:00.  GONE TOO SOON!
She had a radiant smile that would bless any one that she met.  She was also called one of my favorite names Zoe, meaning life.  I never met her but I learned of her when she suddenly became ill by some unknown virus.  When I became aware of her situation I began to pray for her without cease.  There was something about her that captivated my heart for a week.  I can’t help but think of her mother, father, brother, and family and the last time saw her.  Did they get the chance to spend it as if it were their last?  What I do know is that the out pouring love of this young lady was amazing.  To know her was to love her, but after a week of captivating my heart she too was GONE TOO SOON!
Last but not least is Terry he was in the Air Force (sorry I don’t know his rank).  Terry was a remarkable aspiring young man full of life.  He came home from Germany to celebrate His father’s birthday at the end of March.  He returned back to Germany in April he went out to wash his car and had a massive heart attack.  Did he and his father know that this would be their last time seeing each other? Probably not, but at least their last time was full of a celebration and wonderful memories.   Terry too was GONE TOO SOON.

Forever Young Mrs. Sylvia another person that I never met but felt like I knew that life that you've live truly has spoken for you.  At the tender age of 91 years young.
The truth is that no one knows the day or the hour that we will depart this thing called life.  Therefore it is important to stay on good terms and treat others well.  Go out of your way to say a kind word or give a nice gesture.  Life is just too short and once your love one is gone you don’t want to be left with should have, would have, or could have.  Give your best to those you love and don’t hesitate to celebrate their life, because before you know it they too could be GONE TOO SOON.
